About

Waiting out the pandemic in isolation has redefined the spaces that we live in. For some, this has meant demarcating a work setup to a bedroom corner, welcoming pets and plants in substitution for company, or escaping to the province.

For this year’s exhibit, Fotomoto’s curatorial brief puts emphasis on how the past two years have impacted the circumstances and the way we see our homes: “The sense of home, while tied to places, may also be as abstract as a feeling, relationship, or ritual. We welcome all cultural, historical, socio political, and personal narratives captured through the various genres of photo-based works, from all regions of the Philippines.”

This series will open at the new UP Fine Arts Gallery in Diliman from November 19 to December 10, 2022. And in 2023, the exhibit will travel to the BenCab Museum in Benguet in February and the Orange Project at the Bacolod Art District in May.

FotomotoPH organizes the largest annual photography exhibition in the Philippines. Their show travels to different regions and is accompanied by talks, workshops, portfolio reviews and other programs.

The collective consists of acclaimed photographers, photojournalists, documentarists, artists, curators, critics, and photo editors whose objective is to promote Philippine photography as a manifestation of our shared experience as a nation and a medium to express our complex identities.

FotomotoPH is a photographers’ collective originating in Metro Manila, open to nationwide expansion. The objective of FotomotoPH is to promote Philippine photography as a manifestation of our shared experience as a nation, our diversity in perspective, including gender, socio-economic status, age and geography, and as an art form that expresses our identity and culture.
