About the Artwork/s
‘Closure’ and ‘Continuance’ were painted in response to a major emotional journey of heartbreak and hope. Yana Ofrasio’s subject of expression is one flower people often refer to when they talk about hope and happiness– the sunflower. Pulling from memory and emotion, she depicts sunflowers as a symbol of gratitude for the sad and burdened people, who do their best to find light in the heaviest of times.
