About the Artwork
From the artist:
The Digital Experience series is a collaboration between two artists, Meg and Justin. It’s an attempt for them to capture a different atmosphere of live music; a reimagining of online gigs and a portrayal of how we consume live music during the lockdown.
Meg – My creative process depends entirely on my mood. I always just paint/draw make what I feel. But with this series, Justin just messaged me to collaborate and we agreed to do this “digital gig experience” concept, then I just played around and tried to work on the concept with the photos he sent me.
Justin – As a gig photographer, I’ve been around shows and I’ve learned how to capture specific energies. The photos presented are some of my favorite archives transformed into something more.
About the Artist
Meg – Everything I do looks different and has a different process. I just apply everything that I learn in everything that I do.
Justin – I’m in love with shooting live acts and the way I do it is I learn about the subject I’m shooting and I become part of the crowd.
Internal/external Influences while creating:
Meg – Szukalski, Pacita Abad, Aurora, Alex and Allyson Grey, Bjork, Joni Mitchell (They all use different art forms but they inspire me in a lot of ways).
Justin – I was reading up on Peter De Potter when we were conceptualizing this.
