About the Artist
Marlo J. Montoya was born in Pereira in 1986. He’s currently based in Colombia. He first exhibited in 2012.
The artist borrows iconic images from the vintage pop-culture and irreverently deconstruct them through digital manipulation. The artist plays with the concept of visual memory, particularly related to iconic images, in times of information overload. By removing distinctive elements from the picture, the artist ironically gives it new life and new meaning.
