About the Artwork

I express my drawings with lines, smudges, and blotches of color that come together spontaneously. In this way I allow my drawings to breathe and be, and let the lines and colors harmonise, creating life that unfolds on paper.

‘High Summer’ is a series of drawings that take inspiration from fashion photography archives and a lost-in-a-daydream sun-drenched vacation.

About the Artist

Melissa Lara (1992) is an artist-florist based in Manila, Philippines. She finished Arts Management at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and is a certified florist from FlowerSchool New York. Melissa now works full time as a florist and artist.
