About the Artwork/s

In his artwork, CM Arquio appropriates a bored ape nft to comment on notions of ‘value’. Juxtaposing an ice cream vendor, bored ape, and a certain character from Picasso’s which depicts of wanting an ice cream. As Metaphor, Ice cream can be in different contexts, can be the value of joy, love, pleasure or the cold sweet messages in the morning.

About the Artist

CM Arquio (b. 2000) is a 22-year-old artist from Cebu City. He is currently a student at The University of the Philippines-Cebu, taking up Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Majoring Studio Arts. He is known for his works that juxtaposes realistic subjects and cartoon figures as his way of making sense of reality.
