Katrina Bello

Her drawings are informed by observations and experiences of natural environments encountered during the course of travels and migration.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Davao City, Philippines 1973, Katrina Bello is a visual artist who lives and works in Metro Manila and in New Jersey in the United States.

Katrina Bello has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the United States and the Philippines and has been awarded fellowships and residencies in the United States.

She has been awarded residencies at Millay Colony, the Tides Institute and Museum of Art in Maine, Art and History Museums in Maitland, Florida, and Brush Creek Foundation For the Arts in Wyoming. She has participated in exhibitions at the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey, El Museo Cultural in Santa Fe, New Mexico, View Arts in Old Forge, New York, The Center For Contemporary Art in Bedminster in New Jersey, and West Gallery in Metro Manila, Philippines. She recently had a solo exhibition at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey and recently received a 2021 Creative Fellowship by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.

Katrina studied Industrial Design at the College of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, received her BFA from the Mason Gross School of The Arts at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and a MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.

She is the founder of North Willow Attic, an informal artist-run space in northern New Jersey that is dedicated to site-specific art projects.
