Roan Alvarez (b. 1995) earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. 

Roan Alvarez primarily works with interactive transmedia— a combination of traditional and non-traditional materials and protocols, which often involves translucent and transparent materials, LED lights, microcontrollers, sensors, and other electronic components. The incorporation of technology in her pieces enable the audience to interact with, and sometimes influence, the work.

Since deciding on taking an artistic career change in 2008, he has participated in over 70 group shows to date, in Manila, Iloilo, Negros, Cebu, Davao, Baguio, Prague, Italy, and Kuala Lumpur. In 2014, he was invited to join a month-long art residency program in Kuala Lumpur under House of Matahati. In terms of subject matter, this resident of Bacolod focuses on those living on the fringes of society and elaborates on values he believes are important.
