TG Villanueva is a self-taught artist. He began with painting, before transitioning to photography and collage.
Dreams play a significant role in my work. I am inspired by dreams and informed by them. You see dreams can reveal so much about a person. His wants, his desires, and his fears. I interpret my own dreams, most of the time (through collage), and I always discover something new about myself, or some aspect of myself I've long suppressed.
My art has also become an outlet; a way for me to cope with my depression. In fact, my process has become something akin to an exorcism. A ritual of release.
