BIOGRAPHY
Peralejo's works, in essence, are inspired by the strange, unusual, and exciting textures and forms found in our universe.
She finds interest in the minuscule details found in our surroundings, which we often tend to overlook and simply accept as scientific truths, but for her, these are incomprehensible abstract images that are strangely beautiful and left ingrained in our subconscious as references to a whole subject of endless curiosities. Peralejo works with a variety of media but identifies most as an object maker.
Veronica Peralejo graduated Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines, College of Fine Arts with a Bachelor’s Degree in Painting in 2010. She has joined a number of group exhibitions since 2008 and has held seven solo shows since 2015.
Her first solo exhibition Pocket Universe was shortlisted for the Ateneo Art Awards in 2015. She is also one of the founding members of the VisulalArts Helping Hands Foundation in the Philippines.
