“FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE”
Art starts with enjoyment and it circles back to it. The tendency to forget the spirit of fun along the way is inevitable, and perhaps, is the nature of human existence. Without sounding dismissive or imposing, the gathering of artists and creatives in Fuck Art Let’s Dance serves as an invitation to experience playfulness in varying degrees and intensity– may it be through art, music, dance, or by simply being present in the moment.
“Better is not always serious. Better could be fun and at the same time, you can be relevant or substantial. You can even have fun while being serious- but substance should always be there,” says artist and this show’s organizer Kiko Escora.
Consisting of more than 30 artists, the group presentation includes media-based and video works, illustrations, textiles, sculptures, installations, and more. The participating artists, whose practices and attitudes toward art (and maybe life in general) speak of the kind of energy and dynamism that are shared by one another in the exhibition as perceived by Escora. The exhibition reflects diversity– from the video works of James Clar and Derek Tumala to the textile piece of Marita Ganse or the sculptures of Miguel Aquilizan, to name a few.
As simultaneous techno, punk, rock, post-punk, and even more electronic music drowns out the seemingly undisturbed silence and stillness in the entire gallery space, the aural reverberations start to grow on you. The logical reaction is to move to the beat and start dancing. By this time, things can only get better if you trust your gut and just let go.
Building on the element of danger and permitting recklessness may result in unexpected detours, and possibly, in thrilling adventures. There’s genuine care in allowing things to take their own course, if only one finds pleasure beyond the bounds of criticality.
Give in to a bouncy beat and lose the self in the bliss of dancing.

About the Curator.
Kiko Escora is a prolific artist that cannot be placed in a single box. He is easily able to use different mediums in creating his art – from paintings and sculptures, to fashion, installation, and graphic design. His works are based on what he considers “stylized versions of his reality” or sometimes what his audiences consider to be “cool” and “edgy”. Besides this, he also finds inspiration from music, history, design, and dreams
Kiko Escora was awarded CCP’s 13 Artist Award back in 2003. He has exhibited in countries such as Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Spain.
