Sa loob” in English means “inside”.

Sa looban” connotes the notion of being deeper within. Geographically, it means a place that is found deep inside a certain landscape. Socially, it is a place within a rural or urban area inhabited by informal settlers.

There is no English word that translate to “saloobin”. It could mean a person’s innermost thoughts, emotions, desires, or everything all at once.

SALOOB(I/A)N is a recollection of the times. It is a story of social structures, recurring memories, vulnerability, new beginnings, and an uncertain end.
